WORKSHOP#3: IMPLEMENTATION OF GREEN CARE IN AUSTRIA

The third workshop of the Erasmus+ Agroinclusion project took place in Austria (8-12 August '22). This workshop focused on the implementation and care of vegetation in Austria, explained what is the concept of "greencare", visited several organisations supporting people of all ages with special needs and carried out other activities related to the project. visited several organisations that support people of all ages with special needs and carried out other activities related to agriculture and animal husbandry.

Partners from Austria, Germany, Spain, Slovakia and Portugal have participated in the international workshop organised by Lebenshilfe Ennstal and the University College for Agrarian and Environmental Pedagogy Vienna.

The visit showed that Austria is one of the pioneer countries in the professional integration of people with disabilities, thanks to projects funded by the Ministry of Social Affairs and extensive offers of life support throughout the country. According to the project partners, the biggest barriers to successful integration in many countries lie in the lack of educational work and in the fears and prejudices that still exist. The Lebenshilfe Ennstal gardening project is therefore a very positive example of sustainable inclusive work. As guests of the project, we gained a lot of motivation and ideas for further work with people with special needs and for working in the agricultural sector in Slovakia. We gained friends and partners for future projects.
